Drug Baron Surety Languish In Prison

The man that has termed himself to be a professional surety, George Collins, is languishing in prison after he stood surety for a notorious Gambian drug baron, Alhaji Nfali Sesay. The professional surety ran out of luck when accused Alhaji Nfali Sesay, jumped bail and is said to have surfaced in the United Kingdom joining his new wife. Since the arrest of Mr. George Collins, nothing has been done to bring the accused to court.

The drug baron was sometime in 2007, apprehended by security personnel at Lungi International Airport with large quantities of Hashish and Cannabis Sativa.  The accused was later charged to court where he pleaded guilty before magistrate Kamanda of Court # 2. He (the accused) was fined ten million Leones with an alternative of seven years imprisonment. However, the judgment of magistrate Kamanda was quickly over-turned by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), lawyer Robin-Mason who instructed the police to proffer fresh charges against the convict.  This order was complied to by the police and no sooner the drug baron was before court again and granted bail he fled the country and returned to the UK. The matter itself has reached a point with no progress mark to conclude it. More details next week.
