Impersonating Major Sentenced For One Year Six Months

 

Abdulai Bamba Kamara, who posed to be a Major, is now serving one year six months imprisonment following the proceedings at Court # 1A, before magistrate Adrian Fischer.  The accused did not delay the court by pleading guilty to charge.

 

The reason the accused proffered for acting in such a manner was because his father was a soldier at Daru Barracks, and his elder brother is serving in the army.

 

According to the offence Count 1 Impersonation contrary to Section 3 of Cap 34 amending section 4 of Act # 13 of 1975, Abdulai B. Kamara on Friday the 1st day of January 2008 falsely pretended to be a Major. Magistrate Adrian Fischer did not delay in passing a one year six month imprisonment on the accused. It is worth noting that this man has long been disturbing citizens in Freetown.
