Police charge Oil Refinery robbers Kai Nongowa Samba

 

Twenty eight oil refinery workers recently accused of stealing National Power Authority (NPA) property, were arraigned on the 12th February, 2008, before Magistrate Bankole Shyllon of Court No.3 on eleven count charges of robbery with aggravation, shooting, riotous conduct, assault on Police, and other related charges. It was alleged that the accused persons, sometime this year, connived and stole oil from Kissy NPA station. Inspector Dunia prosecuted the matter.

 

The accused were represented by Lawyer C. Osho Williams, Lawyer Sahid M. Sesay, and Lawyer M.M. Kamara. The three vibrant lawyers combined their force to ask for bail for the accused persons and that did not fail. The accused persons were granted bail in the sum of fifty million Leones each, one surety, and the surety is to be a resident of Freetown, and bail to be approved by Master and Registrar. Up to the time of going press, relatives of the accused were making frantic efforts to bail family members. The matter was adjourned to February 25th, 2008.
