New CDMA Telecommunication to be Launched


The Sierra Leone Government and the Chinese Telecommunications Company Huawei will this year launch the new CDMA Telecommunication system.


According to The Minister of Information and Communication, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, the new CDMA cordless telephone system will make it possible for Sierra Leoneans both in the urban and rural areas to benefit from a technology that will make communication very easy and efficient.


He said the Sierra Leone Telecommunication Company, (SIERRATEL) will fully be rehabilitated by December, this year.


Meanwhile the General Manager of SIERRATEL, Mr. Alpha Sesay, and the Deputy Minister of Finance and Development, Momodu Kargbo, have left Freetown to sign the final agreement in India for the purpose of extending and modernizing the land line telephone system in the country.
