First Consultative Meeting in Freetown on the Campaign for Attitudinal Change Ends

The first consultative meeting on the “Campaign for Attitudinal Change” ended last week at the Miatta Conference center in Freetown.

Giving his opening address, the Chairman of the ceremony, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, who is the Minister of Information and Communications, said the campaign is to compliment President Koroma’s dream.  He said the president has a vision to move the country forward and to uplift youths, women, and the underprivileged to a higher level and one such way is for people to change their attitude.

The Chairman maintained that Sierra Leoneans must work together to abandon old ways of doing things in order to make Sierra Leone a great nation.

He informed participants that they are determined to uplift the campaign and thus added that the project is not a political matter.  He stressed the need for collaboration and urged government agencies to set up units to promote the project as they cannot do it all by themselves.

In his keynote address, the Vice President, Samuel Sam Sumana said the campaign is a national programme that cuts across the country.  He said as a government they are concerned with the rate at which they are achieving the developmental goals of the country.   Sumana maintained that there is a need for change of attitude and behavior which must be accompanied by strict discipline in society. He noted that the change of attitude of people in governance would enhance rapid development of the state.
