F.S. Conteh Defiant
The Director
of the Prison Department, Francis S. Conteh, has defied the order of the Establishment Secretary, Mr. Julius Sandy to proceed
on leave.
Information gathered by Sierra Express states that F.S. Conteh who happens to
be the longest serving Director of the department without proceeding on leave was sometime this month served a letter to proceed
on leave but has since not done so.
The Establishment Secretary in an interview with Sierra Express confirmed
that the Director who has not proceeded on leave for a decade has now been sent on leave but refused to state whether he was
sent on vacation or terminal leave.
He however noted that it is the right of every civil servant to proceed on leave after
every two years of working, adding that some civil servants prefer to accumulate their leave term.
At Prisons
Department Head Quarter New England Ville the "pass ar die" Director F.S. Conteh, was not available to comment on
the issue.
The Deputy Director of Prisons, Moses A. Showers in an interview with Sierra Express
said that his boss has since been sent on leave but has refused to go. He continued that the Establishment Secretary ordered
F.S. Conteh to handover to him but he has since not done so.
Further information gathered at the department states that
F.S. Conteh on receiving his leave letter has abandoned his office and sometimes surfaces at the department at his pleasure
thereby depriving his deputy to take over his seat.
