Cleaning Campaign in Kambia

In Kambia, the Civil Society Movement (CSM) engaged youths in sanitary sensitization last Saturday. The society’s head in Kambia admonished the youth that it is important to clean the environment for the enhancement of cleanliness. The CSM boss told the young men and women that the environment contributes to health. He said that diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, malaria etc., can be controlled and drastically reduced if the environment is clean.

In the same vain, Lieutenant Colonel Morlai, the Commanding Officer, 11th Battalion of the Republic of Sierra Leone Army (RSLAF) at Kambia, told the District Security Committee that he has observed that residents of Kambia are not complying with the regular last Saturday’s cleaning exercises. He encouraged the Civil Society to strengthen the sensitization so that the people of Kambia not only the youths, will positively respond to the cleaning exercise every Saturday.
