Donates to the Aged
Mercury International over the weekend donated a cheque of Five Million Leones
to Sierra Leone Society for the Aged.

Making presentation of the cheque to the
matron, Mrs. Genevieve Coker, the Board Chairman Mercury International, popular businessman Samir Hasanyeh stated that the
company was set up in 2007.
The board chairman continued that the charity fund was later set up, adding
that the company should not only be interested in taken away interest generated but as well share part of it with the needy.
He further stated that a similar donation was been made to The Blind School weeks ago,
noting that his company will continue to usher in assistance to the needy. He also informed his audience that his company
has embarked on a building project at the school stressing that it is a policy for the company to help vulnerable people.
“I am here to present a cheque of Five Million Leones to my people, who are desperately
in need of help,” the Chairman said.
In her statement, Matron of the home, Mrs. Genevieve Coker
thanked Mercury International for making such a good gesture, which according to her was timely. She explained that the home
as named after King George VI of England was established after the Second World War.
The name
she went on was a changed to Sierra Leone Society for the Aged in 1988. She noted that most these assistance to the home will
help them do their work adding that the home presently host twenty five men and twenty women.
A board
member of the home Mr. Catherine Morris-Jones also made statement. Other board members of the home including Sarrah Sheers,
Betty Smith (Secretary), Jack Morana (Treasurer), Rosaline Sesay.
