Post Office Bank Will Soon Pay Customers

The Minister of Information and Communications, Alhaji I.B. Kargbo has disclosed that the Sierra Leone Postal Savings Bank will soon pay its customers at his Youyi Building Conference Hall, who had saved with the bank. The Minister stated that he is waiting for new Management to be put in place and a meeting will be held to resolve the pitiful problem amicably.

He further noted that they are loaning from the Finance Ministry to pay those who saved with the bank whilst the restructuring is taking place. An expected change of the Management, he said, will ensure a competent and viable administration. No explanation as to what really went wrong with peoples monies will be tolerated this time.

Salpost Bank, a Limited Liability Company, is supposed to generate profit - a status it has lost in the last couple of years. The Minister said that the government of Sierra Leone is encouraging the Finance Ministry to raise money to pay workers at Salpost on a monthly basis until things improve.
