Sources reaching Sierra Express Media on Friday 11th April revealed that the
container manager Brima Kamara, and four others were invited by the Deputy Inspector General of Police to make statements.
The Deputy Inspector General led the team together with the LUC Ross Road Police Station Superintendent Kaprie Saidu Kamara
with CID personnel at the Quay and caused the work to be in a standstill position for about two days. The present Managing
Director of the Sierra Leone Port Authority (SLPA) confirmed to Sierra Express that they were invited by the police
to make a statement and that is all he has to say at this present time.
Sources alleged that
the container manager and other senior port officials were worried as the allegation was all about fulfilled documentation
on their clandestine activities. Other sources alleged that despite the ban of the timber export in the country there was
a clandestine network to export this timber and cooper cables. Further sources revealed that senior port officials were worried
as there was no way for them to have manipulated documents which will shortly help the investigation process. According to
one Abu Bakarr Kargbo who went to collect his containers for the past two days, said work at the section was in a standstill
and he hoped the police will not comprise their integrity this time around.
