Kambia Hospital Gets Boss

The people of Kambia are now blowing a sigh of relief after a long time without a medical officer. The former district medical officer, Dr. D.M. Kandeh abandoned the hospital some time ago without official reasons for doing so.  That has culminated to the point that the Ministry of Health has replaced him with Dr. Labor Kargbo.

Since Dr. Labor Kargbo’s arrival, changes in medication in the whole of Kambia district have been observed.

A resident of Kambia district told our reporter that every thing has taken off in full swing in the hospital.

The ambulance system has become effective in the district. Medicines are always available in the hospital and proper attention is given to patients.

Dr. Kargbo told Sierra Express that he has set up a team comprising of community health officers, nurses and dispensers.

Talking of the constraints patients are encountering, Dr. Kargbo said that there is no access to an X-ray machine which has made it very difficult for the residents of the area and the people have to travel to Port Loko, Makeni or Lunsar for an X-ray before they could be treated.
