Over APC Symbol Wahala - Eleven Remanded

 

Eleven accused persons including Sulaiman Kamara, Lamin Kamara, and Umar Kanu, among others, who appeared before Magistrate Alfred Fadiwa on Monday 14th April 2008 for six count charges of alleged malicious damage, threatening language, throwing missiles, riotous conduct and other related offences, were denied bail when the matter came up for hearing.

 

According to the indictment read in court, by the court clerk, it was stated that the accused persons on the 10th-11th April 2008, went into the dwelling house of one Sylvia Deborah Francess, of 11 Zainab Drive, Aberdeen, and maliciously damaged personal effects belonging to the complainant and in addition threw missiles and threatened to kill her.

 

All the eleven accused persons pleaded not guilty of the offences. The accused persons were represented by four lawyers who applied for bail but were refused and the accused were remanded at the Pademba Road Prison.

 

The matter was adjourned to the 16th April.
