Management Crisis at Lungi International Airport

Since Mr. Donald Bull left, there has been a serious struggle for power at the Lungi Airport Authority.  This has made the airport anarchistic and slowly becoming nasty.

It is like a challenge to the workers and every one wants to show the extent at which he/she is connected. The Acting General Manager, MR. John Brima, is busy manipulating his way to succeed the Financial Controller, whilst the Financial Controller, Mr. John Sesay, is openly boasting of his political connections to become the next General Manager.

In the same vein, Mr. Swarray Deen who is seen to be the most qualified and competent person is quietly waiting but steadily doing his own lobby for government to reach the decision of appointing the General Manager.  Although sources say that Mr. Sesay is a very strong force because of his political connections, government authorities are not willing to give him the position because of his competence in the job.

This tussle is rendering the airport managerial weakness that may harm the affairs of the airport if not handled with urgency.

Our reporter is keeping a close eye on this story and will report on developments.
