The Magistrates Court in Kambia is presently presiding over a case of unlawful carnal knowledge involving one 58 year old man, Foday Koroma of 35 Hospital Road. The 12 year old victim alleges that on Easter Monday, March 24th the accused called her in his house and sent her to buy him juice.

Upon her return she was told by the accused to wait in the parlour, where he later met her and closed the door.  “I could not understand what he was up to.  After a moment, I saw him holding some rag which he stuffed my mouth with,” she narrated.  The rape victim said that the old man deflowered her. “I could not remember it all, but when I realized myself later, my body was weak all over and I could not walk to my house; I passed the night in his house,” she explained.  “In the morning when I came back home my parents noticed in me that something was amiss.”
