AWOL Soldier Docked For Sexual Abuse

An AWOL soldier, Saio Kargbo, was arraigned before Magistrate Shyllon of Court # 3 and docked for allegedly sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl.  According to the indictment, the accused on 14th November 2007 allegedly sexually abused a 10-year-old girl at a certain location in Freetown.

Evidence delivered in court by the victim’s mother stated that she left her house in the morning to sell and on her return her daughter informed her that she has been sexually abused by the accused.

The mother further explained that she immediately went to the Central Police Station and made a report against the accused and a medical form was issued to her to report to the Rainbow Center.

The accused denied the allegation and referred to it as mere allegations.  He again informed the court that before the incident the complainant had not been giving him food in the house.  The matter was adjourned to next Thursday.
