Zimmi Police Station Request Help

 

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Zimmi Police station, Mr. Fayia Benedict Nyango, is appealing to the Assistant Inspector General of Police South, AIG Burke, to help provide allocate an operational vehicle for the station for them to be effective in executing their job, especially in monitoring the crossing points.

 

Mr. Nyango was speaking in a snap interview with our reporter in the area. He said that among the most difficult task they are facing transportation is paramount. Mr. Nyango said he has over 11 miles of border patrol under his command with only one motorbike. He said the Zimmi Liberia border crossing is a very sensitive area and pleads to the authorities to help. Mr. Nyango did say that he is aware that senior officers are overwhelmed with requests made by different divisions.

 

Mr. Nyango told Sierra Express that his area of command is peaceful and there is no security threat. He told this press the cases that are frequently reported at the Zimmi Police station are domestic violence that often handled by the Family Support Unit.

 

Mr. Nyango said the Sierra Leone Police in partnership with the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces have been doing their best to bring stability to that area.
