Why Pick on the Acting Headmaster of the Blind School?
Why can't
we learn to give credit to people who deserve it? His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma keeps stressing on attitudinal
change but Sierra Leoneans are yet still not getting the point right. I guess, we should be hailing Mr. Sandy, rather than
nailing him down.
Why can't we point out some of the good works this gentleman had done in
making the institute a better environment for the blind pupils? If only one has to be reasonable enough, we should be proud
of people like Mr. Sandy and render him tremendous respect for his good works done in approximately a year in office as Acting
Headmaster of the Blind School.
A lot of people do not like people with positive change ideas; each time one
tries to put changes in place one gets himself into a deep shit.
Change of attitude, one of the most common phrases, the president
always uses in his speeches! We really need that, in order to make Sierra Leone a better place.
How can
one pick on a man who had created lots of learning facilities for the Blind School?
It is
worth mentioning that Sandy has contributed immensely for the development of that particular institution during his 17 years
as a Deputy Headmaster of the Blind School. Amongst other things this great man had done in a year, is the refurbishing of
the school library, rehabilitation of the school building, the provision of teaching and learning materials, to name but a
few.
Sandy, the middle-aged-man philanthropist is a holder of a Bachelor in Philosophy degree
from one of the world's most respected learning institutions, the Birmingham University in the United Kingdom.
We accept
the fact that most people are advocating for a blind to lead the blind; but have we taken into consideration the difficulties
in heading such an institution?
Sandy has worked tirelessly for the Blind School and we must not sit aside
and watch his effort go in vain.
