Set Back For SLPP

 

The opposition SLPP is faced with another set back in its Eastern stronghold, Kenema as the main popular Independent candidate Mr. J.S. Kelfala poised to capture the mayoral seat in Kenema city has broken away from the parent party. Kelfala was the former Executive Director, ED Sierra Leone Roads Transport Authority - SLRTA has been advised by his supporters to contest as independent candidate.

 

According to sources, a defective electoral college awarded the SLPP symbol to Chief Brima Kargbo as against Kelfala, a strange development which has sent shock waves down the spines of the SLPP supporters in Kenema.

From the Kenema Youth Sports Club, Reservation Road, where Kelfala was successfully nominated as Independent, his supporters proceeded to jubilate on the main streets.

 

Kelfala expressed optimism that he was going to be the next mayor of the city of Kenema, boasting that he was going to defeat his opponent Chief Boima Kargbo whom he described as the unpopular choice of the SLPP.
