According to the Deputy Minister, the campaign is part of his own contribution in eradicating Ebola in the Country and such campaigns have so far proved worthwhile.

Randolph Bayoh who is also the All Peoples Congress (APC) Southern Region Organizing Secretary received commendation from members of the Muslim community.

In every mosque he visits, the Minister provided a plastic bucket with chlorine and also educated the congregation on the preventive methods of Ebola.

Addressing the congregation, his message was based on the causative factors of Ebola such as the eating of wild animals and bats as the primary factors and underscoring that the secondary factors of transmitting the virus are from contacting a sick person.

He told the gathering that the symptoms of the disease include high fever, frequent stool, vomiting, rash on the body and urged everybody who experiences such symptoms to quickly report to a hospital stating that the earlier one reports, the better the chances of survival.

The Minister’s decision to undertake the sensitization drive out of his own resources was to ensure that Ebola is eradicated out of the country. He said prayer is the answer to every problem but notwithstanding, people should also take precautions.

The Minister urged colleagues to emulate the shining examples and vowed to donate his August salary to the campaign.

He provided one bucket and chlorine to every Mosque and educated the congregation on how to use the substance. The Minister urged the worshipers to take the message to their various homes or communities.

He encouraged all to join the Ministry of Health and the President who have been doing a lot to end the disease.

Most of the worshippers openly confessed that it is their first time receiving Ebola sensitization and vowed to follow the preventive instructions.

Prayers were offered for President Koroma, the Minister and the nation. The minister urged his colleagues to follow the sterling example of President Koroma and visit their respective communities to sensitize them on Ebola.
